Mariner of the Seas Cruise Review

This was actually the 7 night cruise of the Eastern Caribbean Cruise which departed on one Sunday from the Port Canaveral in Florida. This cruise visited the Coco Cay Bahamas, Philipsburg- St. Marten and St. Thomas- USVI and took three days in the sea.

Although we have been on many cruises before, but this one was so far the best of all the experiences we ever had in our lives. We got at the Avis location for dropping the rental and reserved 2 one way rentals, from the airport to the pier and vice versa a week later. We were along with other 3 couples who seemed to enjoy the ride as much as we did.

After we checked in with our sea pass cards we started off with our journey that was to be the most memorable one in our lives. We were given a very grand suite that could not be more exquisitely embellished and furnished. It gave the feel of a movie star and we wished to expect even more.

The Mariner of the Seas is one of the new voyage classes of ships. It is a ship that is very clean and hygienic and sports a very exquisite retro look and art deco. I somehow found the very look of the ship as very appealing. The deck layout of the mariner can be easily seen on RCCL website.

The Grande Promenade that is on the deck5 is a major attraction as it has shops, snacks and bars. It is great as from there you can access the casino directly as we did every now and then. Another amazing attraction at the ship was ice rink that just took us by surprise and we simply loved the ice shows held.

The staffs of The Mariner of the Seas are fully trained and are apt in handling all the situations that they might encounter on the cruise. They are so simply amiable that they made us feel comfortable and at ease. In fact even the bartenders were very efficient and were not at all pushy.

We stayed at the grand suite located on the deck 10 which had a very large bed, new mattresses, large sitting areas with cushion sofas and soft chairs, coffee tables, desk and desk chairs, wet bar, drawer space and closets. We had a fabulous bathroom that was luxuriously made.

When it comes to food then nothing can be asked for more than the wonderful cuisine we were provided on The Mariner of the Seas. The appetizers served to us were just irresistible and the soups were incredible. The salads, entrees, desserts and meals were the best of the dishes served to us. I have never tasted so many delicacies at one time in my life. Speaking of the board activities let me tell you that we had the best three full sea days. We were offered the karaoke, bingo, belly flop contests, parades, sexy legs contests, naming the tunes, trivia challenges, the quest games and the horse races along with many such interesting board activities. All in all, the perks, the activities and the great company we were provided made our cruise a vacation to remember for the entire lifetime.

Jewel of the Seas Cruise Review

My last summer vacation was one of the perfect vacations one can think of and thanks to “The Jewel of the Seas” for such a lovely vacation. The Jewel of the Seas was inaugurated in the year 2001. This 11-storied ship has a beautiful artwork to Centrum lobby that is omnipresent in the ship. The colors used in the décor of the ship are classy and not at all loud.

The crew members and the service provided by them are just remarkable. The crew members were very helping and used to make every single effort so that the visitors can enjoy a great time. The staterooms were well designed and have a lot of storage capacity. The television system has interactive system so you can access your account from the luxury of the Jewel of the Seas. The bathroom was equipped with all modern facilities, including hot water shower and tub.

There were around three to six eateries where you can go any time of the day opened 24 hours. To enjoy the buffet system, Windjammer was the great option available where the services are quick that need worth mentioning. For lunch and dinner, we used to enjoy a variety of cuisines that were simply irresistible.

When talking about food, it would be incomplete without mentioning of The Tides, a formal dinning room. The décor of the restaurant was classy and the quality of the food was excellent. The Seaview Café, at the back of the kiddy pool, was a nice place to have sandwiches and various snack foods. Another worth mentioning amenity of Jewel of the Seas is Seaview Café that was bound to provide solace. Being there we enjoyed pool gear and snacks.

Other exciting dinning venues of this cruise include Chops Grill and Portofino Italian Resturant. Chops Grill has a refreshing atmosphere coupled with delicious deserts and appetizers and perfect service. Chops Grill provides the best deal that one can get at the price as low as 20 dollars including gratuities. Portofino is also a good alternative and if you love Italian food then you should check out Portofino. Drinking in the cruise is another refreshing experience stored in our memories. A variety of juices and colas a la carte were offered.

There were many entertainment options available such as The Photo Shop, The Pit Shop, The Tri-Level Coral Theatre and The Casino. For shopping freaks like me, the cruise provides a worth shopping experience at the Centrum Entrance, which was the perfect place from where you can buy duty free goods and logo wear.

If you like to appreciate art then The Photo Shop, an art gallery, is a treat for your eyes. For sports lover The Pit Stop is the place to hit. It is a sports bar with many television sets all along the walls and comfortable seating arrangement. For theatre enthusiasts The Tri-Level Coral Theatre is an apt place. The acoustics and sight lines are simply amazing. The stage curtain depicts the ocean in an artistic manner and has a comfortable seating arrangement.
Truly, there is no denying from the fact that The Jewel of Seas promises a fun filled vacation with all its excellent services. So next time when you plan a trip to the seas, I must say take the Jewels of the Seas.
