Carnival Destiny

Caribean Cruises presents Carnival Destiny review
I traveled on the Carnival Destiny in September 2007, and to be honest as a Cruise Specialist I wouldn’t recommend this ship to anybody!
I’ve been at San Juan terminal before so I knew we’ll have to wait at the terminal, but this was simply ridiculous . The waiting time was extremely long so I arrived around 5PM for my check-in. On some other cruises I’ve done in my career all this matters were solved in less than 40 minutes, this time it took more than 2 hours.

Ship:
Well what to say about it? It smelled! I’m not sure what it was, but it had an attic, mildew odor that permeated throughout the Carnival Destiny. At first I thought that the problem was in me, but then I found out that majority of other passengers also had complaints.

Cabin:
We had a balcony cabin, and if I compare it to other cruise ships, I’ve found the size to be smaller. There was less space but must admit it was kept nicely clean. However, we didn’t have an air conditioning system in our cabin better said it didn’t work! Upon complaining to the purser, who I found to be quite rude, she promptly dispatched a service man who said the repair would have to wait until we returned to San Juan (and this was just 3 hours after leaving San Juan). According to the purser, the ship was sold out, and we couldn’t’ be moved to another cabin, even though we advised that we would take a downgrade.

Food:
It was not the best, but also not that bad. The service at the main dining rooms has a lot to offer. The waiter was very friendly, but he was in a big rush all the time.

Clientele:
Large percentage of the passengers were locals.

Activities: There were many activities to choose from on Carnival Destiny, the choice was really big.

Spa Services: I have to admit it was the best part of our cruise, great service!

The overall experience is not the best I could even say more negative than positive. The only good thing, and the reason I decided to “suck it up”, was the fact that my family was also on the ship and it was the first time that I was able to spend a decent amount of uninterrupted time with them.

Caribean cruise will be back soon!

Carnival Conquest

Caribean Cruises presents Carnival Conquest the pride of Carnival Cruise Lines review
I took my brother and his two kids during President’s week on the Carnival Conquest. Our ocean view cabins were on deck 2 ( it was last minute booking so this was all that we could get) the cabins were very spacious. Entire service was amazing, we didn’t have a single bad experience. The entertainment was great and the Mardi Gras party was the beast of it all. Kids also enjoyed and had a really good time, and there is so many things on this ship that children can be occupied by, so we hardly saw them, so it was also a break for my brother! I really recommend this ship!

Pros: Actually everything on this ship was great; cabins, children’s program, and the staff was very friendly
Cons: Purchasing return transfers onboard. Staff didn’t have correct info so we almost missed the flight
